"Hard to trust some of the hosts now"
I used to listen regularly, but lately I’ve found myself trusting the hosts less. Sometimes they talk like the answer is already obvious instead of acknowledging that a lot of these topics are more complicated. It can feel less like they’re trying to be fair and more like I’m listening to political friends vent. I still think some episodes are worth hearing, but I catch myself wanting actual receipts, emails, sources, something, instead of just confident takes. I don’t dislike the show, I just don’t rely on it the way I used to.

"Pretty good shows, though the ads make me wonder sometimes"
I listen to Crooked fairly often, and I have to admit, the shows are usually solid. The hosts are easy to follow, and it feels a lot more normal and less exhausting than a lot of political content out there.
That said, the ads do start to wear on me. In some of the longer episodes, it feels like I’m hitting the skip button every few minutes, which makes me question how much I’m actually enjoying the flow of the show.
I’m still giving it 4 stars because, despite that, I do keep coming back. The content is good enough to stick with, I guess I just wish the ad breaks were a little less constant

"Good, but kind of hit or miss"
Some of the shows are really good and easy to get into. Others feel a little repetitive or too one-sided. I still listen here and there, just not as much as I used to.

"Wish I’d Started Following It Sooner"
I mostly use crooked.com for the politics podcasts, i kind of regret not getting into it earlier. It’s been a really easy way to keep up with what’s going on without feeling like I’m drowning in news updates every five minutes.
The topics are usually timely and explained in a way that’s easy to follow, even when everything is moving fast. Not every episode hits the same, but overall it’s one of those sites I keep coming back to. Definitely 5 stars from me.

"I always have a good time listening..."
I always have a good time listening to it. I mean, it really helps make my boring commutes feel a lot less boring.

"Mostly felt a bit too surface-level"
I remember a couple of parts being somewhat helpful, but what sticks with me is that it felt shallow most of the time. I was hoping for more real analysis and deeper takeaways, and I don’t really recall getting much of that.

"Usually lines up with how I remember the week unfolding"
I’m left-leaning, and most of the time Crooked covers the news in a way that matches how I’ve been thinking about it. From what I remember listening over the past few months, the episodes are usually easy to follow and good for catching up. Every now and then they can get a little smug or too deep into political insider stuff, which gets old, but overall I still find myself coming back.

"Funny here and there, but gets old"
I’ll admit, some of the jokes are funny, they definitely get a laugh out of me now and then. But after a while, it starts to feel like the same political rant on repeat — just with slightly different wording. The site itself works fine, no real issues there, but it’s not something I feel the need to check every day

I mostly keep listening becuase of the guests. They bring on some really solid people, and the conversations usually feel like they’re worth the time. Not every episode is a hit for me, but overall the guest quality is reliable. Took off one star for a few that were kinda meh

"The hosts have great chemistry"
I keep coming back because the hosts play off each other so well. It kind of feels like listening to smart friends debate and joke around a bit, which makes it really easy to stay hooked.

"I like the shows overall, but the audio..."
I like the shows overall, but the audio can be kind of odd here and there. Sometimes it sounds fine, then suddenly the editing feels rushed or a bit off, and I’m not really sure why. It’s still enjoyable, just a little confusing at times.

I was hoping for more genuine back-and-forth with the community, but it feels one-sided. Comments and questions often seem to get overlooked (or at least that’s how it comes across), and the whole vibe feels more like they’re talking at people instead of actually talking with us. Kind of disappointing if you joined expecting to feel like part of something.

"The site’s a little frustrating to use"
I don’t know, the site just feels kind of hard to use sometimes. Pages will start loading and then, wait, or they load halfway and act weird for me, so I end up getting a bit annoyed trying to move around.

"Subscription didn’t live up to the hype"
I paid for the subscription for a couple months because it made it sound like I’d be getting a much better experience, but it didn’t really match what was promised. A lot of the stuff I actually wanted was either already available for free or barely different from the regular version.
The extra features felt underwhelming, and after a while I kept forgetting I was even paying for it. Canceling wasn’t a problem, which I appreciated, but overall it just didn’t feel worth the price to me.

"Wish I’d read the reviews first"
I gave Crooked a try, but I kind of regret not reading more reviews first. The journalistic accuracy just doesn’t feel reliable enough to me. A lot of the stories come across more like opinion first and facts second. I don’t mind some perspective, but I still expect solid sourcing and less spin if something is presenting itself as news. It’s just hard for me to trust it as an actual news source.
